Anna has been handling California and multistate sales and use tax transactions since 1992. She has served clients in various industries including construction, energy, technology, leasing, manufacturing, agricultural, and retail. Anna assists clients with sales and use tax transaction planning and structuring, determining the taxability of products and services, assisting clients with the analysis and development of processes for sales and use tax in daily operations. She also provides assistance with nexus reviews and planning, voluntary disclosure agreements, due diligence reviews, FAS 5/ASC 450 reserve calculations and assistance with state tax audits, appeals and refunds.

Anna Began her career as an auditor with the California State Board of Equalization conducting sales and use tax audits of area businesses. She also spent several years working for Big Four accounting firms doing sales and use tax consulting, and she worked for a Fortune 500 company where she assisted with the implementation of a sales and use tax software solution.

Anna is a licensed certified public accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Anna received the 2013 Moss Adams Technical Excellence Award in the consulting category.

Understanding the Application of Sales and Use Tax for California and Nevada

The presentation will be an overview of sales/use tax rules in California & Nevada. We will discus the requirements for collecting or self-reporting tax on sales and purchases we will cover some common exemptions and how to document those exemptions and adjust pricing. Lastly we will identify some areas
to be aware of for sales/use tax purposes.
