Kim has been working in construction accounting and finance industry for almost 35 years. She started her career as an Accounting Assistant for GCS, in West Sacramento. From there, she continued to learn and grow at Schetter Electric, for another 10 years. She later moved to Unger Construction Co, where she has spent 17 years as the Controller.
During her time with Unger, Kim has played an integral role in two software conversions with a fabulous team that works together to promote growth. Unger Construction Co. recently celebrated 90 years in the construction industry, and Kim looks forward to being part of the next milestone.
Kim also belongs to the Sacramento CFMA local chapter since 1989. She credits the chapter for creating many opportunities in both her career and leadership skills. She has served on committees since 2004, as Chapter Treasurer 2008-2010, and Chapter President 2010-2011. For the past several years, Kim has been most active on the Special Events Committee.
In addition to CFMA, she is also a member of National Notary Association (NNA) since 1988, and a member of Financial of Executives International (FEI) since 2016.
But wait, she didn’t stop there. Inspired by her nephew, who suffers from hemophilia, Kim has been an active member of Central California Hemophilia Foundation since 2010. She has been Treasurer and Board Member since 2016. Kim has been a member of Moose International (Women of the Moose) since 2007, and has served on various committees ever since.
As for her personal life, Kim is married to her best friend and love of her life, Ignacio, since 1986. Together they have two wonderful children (Ignacio Jr. and Cassandra), and a beautiful 19-month old granddaughter (Ileana). She loves spending time with her family, friends, golfing, and vacationing in Mexico.
